Last week I wrote about Steven Monjeza and Tiwonge Chimbalanga, who held the first public gay commitment ceremony in Malawi’s history.

At the time, I mentioned how their bravery in stating their love for each other, considering that homosexuality is illegal in Malawi.
The BBC reports that they were arrested for unnatural acts between men and denied bail while waiting for their trial.
According to the article, Monjeza is considering cancelling the wedding.
Let’s hope that Monjeza and Chimbalanga remain safe as they endure this situation.
