Risco Connection was one of the oddest and most original music acts of the late 1970s: a reggae group that performed covers of disco songs. Masterminded by producer Joe Isaacs, Risco Connection could have easily been dismissed as a novelty act, but their music struck a chord with the underground disco scene, becoming a hit at clubs like The Loft.
It was believed that Risco Connection’s legacy was only a handful of highly collectible 12-inch singles, but their album is finally being released after more than thirty years.
Here is their best-known song, a cover of “Ain’t No Stoppin Us Now.”
